The new CPV version 2.0 module enhances the CAT3000v3 and CPT3000v3 to provide the rigorous and totally comprehensive Card Validation tests required for MasterCard Certification, it also produces results and image files in the MasterCard defined format suitable for the exchange of information with MasterCard.
The CPV validation module has been officially qualified by MasterCard. It uses the same tests as employed by MasterCard in Waterloo, Belgium, to perform qualification tests on cards. These tests, which are controlled and administered by MasterCard, are complex, detailed and rigourous. In keeping with Barnes' normal practice we have provided an easy to use and intuitive user interface combined with an easy to understand yet comprehensive report of any problems encountered. The application of these tests prior to submission of the card to MasterCard enables any issues to be identified and cleared up in-house without the delay and expense associated with a qualification failure.
Cards are tested against a detailed set of criteria based upon the Implementation Conformance Statement (ICS) which has to be input to the system for each card application. To simplify the entry of this complex data Barnes has devised a guided data entry box using linked drop down lists in order to prevent the inadvertant entry of impossible combinations of parameters.
Once the ICS data is confirmed then a bespoke test suite is created directly from MasterCard's test conditions and pass criteria database and applied to the card under test. The results can be viewed within a few seconds. All of the CPT 3000v3's familiar displays are available for the assessment and analysis of the test results. The test report contains the test requirement and the error message for each failed test or observation directly from the MasterCard test database.
The CPV module covers all possible forms of MasterCard payment application, including Cirrus, Maestro, and PayPass, and multi application cards including dual interface (e.g. M/Flex).
